How is that by my logic? All I was stating is that at least Willie is on a team currently.

well the 3rd rounder will be on a team when madden comes out unless the player goes like undrafted IRL, so that doesn't really matter here.

Flawed logic. The player who the GM selects might in fact go much later (such as 5th or 6th, for example) and end up getting cut in preseason or earlier.

Your statement would be true if we were doing our draft after the real one, thus knowing for certain that a player is a 3rd or better (or around there). Given our uncertainty, it remains to be a gamble to state that our 3rd round selections will be equivalent to those in real life.

It could also be the opposite and a 3rd round player could go early-mid second in the real draft.

But look at it from the perspective of a 'regular' fan. They would probably go after those 'big school' players or 'big name' players, because they know them. Heck, if you told me the Titans were going to take Jason Jones in the 2nd last year, I would have said "WHO?!?!?" Sure, now he's looking good, but in college he played for a smaller school, that truly sucked at football. I just think it is much more likely for a GM to draft a bigger school prospect who goes later in the real draft than it is for the GM to go out and find that one particular small school guy who worked his way up the draft.

Than they need to do more research. You didnt know who Jason Jones was? Jason Jones was a pretty good prospect, I saw his name in a couple yahoo articles.

Agreed I knew Jason Jones, he was considered by some as 3-4 OLB... Eastern Michigan I believe? (Maybe it's Western, but it's one of those two).

I had him as a mid 3rd rounder, and I'm not draft expert, so I wouldn't be totally shocked.
