Currently featured on the WE channel, also known as Women's Entertainment is a popular show lovingly titled, Bridezillas. The name of the program should speak for itself in regards to what the reality television series is about. For the most part, a camera crew is enlisted to follow upcoming brides as they plan their special wedding day. This allows for filming the tantrums, outrageous demands, and at times dreadfully emotional situations that these individuals come across during their preparations.
Most of the time, it is considered almost unbelievable what the human being will endure to ensure the happiness of a loved one. Not only this, but it also becomes a shock as to what little morality people have when trying to coordinate and plan one of the most important days of their lives. Many times bridesmaids are what are targeted the most. This is typically due to the insane and insistent demands of the soon-to-be bride. Arguments and at times, physical altercations erupt when, for example, brides demand to be treated like royalty, put the blame on others, or exaggerate minimal occurrences into large dramatic episodes.
It is to be known that though the idea and concept behind the television program seems absurd and ridiculous, it is rather eye-catching as well as alluring. While watching this program for a few hours one evening it was brought to attention the cost for planning such an ordeal. Every small aspect of a wedding puts financial strain on the newlyweds. Consider this: decorations, halls, food, attire, even the women and mens wedding bands used during the ceremony. These examples are simply a small portion of all that must be considered when planning the event.
Thus, the men who willingly marry the bridezillas are called into question. Though no follow-up interview is done once the ceremony takes place, it makes one ponder. Why does the groom want to marry such a women? Do they realize what they are getting themselves into? How long does the marriage actually last? Though this is only a few of the questions that are unanswered, it brings about a whole new revelation of what men actually endure and go through for someone they love.
When considered in such a manner it seems somewhat romantic, when viewed in an extreme and different standpoint. Consider this, the men depicted on this reality television series are fully aware of what his bride is doing, and the wrath that she unleashes not only onto him, but others as well. Thus, the only logical conclusion that can be arrived at is the simple fact that these men truly do love the women they are marrying regardless of their absurd and erratic behavior.
Overall, Bridezillas may be considered a romantic reality television series. Because it is strongly believed that it takes a true long-lasting love in order to endure some of the travesties and chaotic behavior that occurs. It is only hoped that not all brides react in such a manner.
