In some places the idea about marriage is tending to be outdated, as our attitudes and needs in a relationship have changed a lot. Some people think that a "lifetime" relationship is just a dream of movie makers or cheap romance writers. This is not an age of innocence, so is marriage really outdated?
In the 21st Century, one thing for sure is that our view evolve little by little, let alone the immediate wants and needs. Some experts are against the cultural conflict and integration caused by globalization, which will inevitably make some traditional culture disappear.
Germany is a typical post- marriage country. Most people are still unmarried, and it has the highest single population in the World. The birthrate in Germany is negative, and many local German never plan to have a baby except for the conservative immigrants. In fact, this kind of society is always under controversy.
On the other hand, there are also many conservative countries like Singapore. Singapore is a modern and extremely conservative Asian country. Marriage and having a child are considered the need for everyone living there. Extramarital affair is considered to be a decadent thing. In Singapore, marriage and the family unit is considered as a very important factor for maintaining the national economy. While in Germany, sexual freedom is considered as the right of every citizen and it will not affect the economic stability of the country.
Therefore, there is no such an answer for that whether or not marriage has been outdated, because it depends on many aspects such as culture and economy. No matter if we choose marriage or not, we will never stop pursuing happiness throughout our life.
