| If that leaves Harper with negative points, you have to undo his signings in reverse order until he hits 35. If not, it's cool. | |

| does he have a pending bid on scott? because if that happens and he's at the limit, it's another 15 pt penalty. | |

| he had 10 points left, had won scott for 6 points and then bid 6 on quin jr. So now he cant afford to get scott even though he won him.
you cant penalize someone because a penalty put them over though. Thats punishing someone twice for one offense.

| he would be in negative points because of the penalty though
theres a huge problem with that and ill illustrate it here:
Some GM has 30 points to bid with he bids 16 points on Player A and signs him -14 remain he bids 10 points on Player B and signs him -4 remain he bids 5 points on Player C -overbid, spent 31 he loses 5 points bringing him down to 25 total -now hes over again because hes spend 26 points on players A and B he loses 10 points bringing him down to 15 total points and cant sign Player B -now hes over again because he spent 16 points on player A he loses 15 points bringing him down to 0 total point and cant sign Player A -in total he lost all of his points because he overbid by 1 point.
That rule would just be ridiculous, as much as I hate to defend harper; you cant be penalized ontop of a penalty.

| actually you wouldn't lose player A, because the other penalty wouldn't be applied.
but yeah i see what u mean, it's fine.

but yeah i see what u mean, it's fine. even if the third penalty isnt applied he'd still lose player A because he spent 16 points on him and would only have 15 left

| no, the thing is the other bid was made before that. aka player b was won before player c. in MK's case, he was penalized, and there was still a pending bid after that. | |

| Sox even if it was, I overbid on either one of them, wether I overbid on Quin or Scott doesn't make a difference. Its not like I bid 12 on Quin than went and bid 10 on Scott when I only had 10 points, I had 10 points and I bid 6 on each, one or the other put me over the max. Therefore I lose them and 10 points leaving me with 0. Jesus H Christ. | |

we're not really talking about your situation anymore, just discussing hypotheticals... zoom, if that is true, then after the penalty wouldn't the bid on scott be nullified? he went over, he lost 10, so he'd be in negatives? you're only applying one penalty.

why you were saying he should be penalized ontop of the penalty is where all this controversy is stemming from

| i don't think i said you double penalize. it's like this:
let's say i have 30 pts. i've spent 28 on a bunch of guys. then i bid 3 on another guy. now i've gone 1 pt over, so i'm at 31. the penalty is -10, but i've already bid 28, so i'd be at -8. that's when you undo the signings backwards till u get below 20. but u don't penalize again.

thats what you said, and I tried to clarify and suggested we dont penalize someone twice in the scenario you were assuming

thats what you said, and I tried to clarify and suggested we dont penalize someone twice in the scenario you were assuming i was sayin in MK's case, were he to go into negative points we'd reverse signings. i don't see me mentioning anywhere that you double penalize. any signings after the penalty are nullified.
